Cirith Ungol – King of the Dead
It had been weeks, or maybe months, since anyone had a decent night’s rest. They all knew though that they were close to either completing their mission or dying. At this point either would be fine, but the stench of Marthgul the King of the Dead hung heavy in the air. They didn’t need to kill Marthgul, but they needed his helmet, and then his horde would fall, and the land would be free.
With those bits of lore out of the way it’s on to the album! King of the Dead is the second album by the American heavy metal band Cirith Ungol. There are countless things that could be the inspiration for this, but the helm atop the King of the Dead was calling to me. It calls to more than just me though, and so I give to you The Helm of Marthgul!
